2009 Bike MS Reeves Northrup Memorial Bike to the Bay

Saturday and Sunday June 27th and 28th, 2009

New Bike News........Check it out here.
TOP Bike MS CAPTAINS HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE TO WIN!

The 2009 Reeves Northrup Memorial Bike-to-the-Bay is the premier cycling event in the Midwest.  The tour begins at the Lucas County Fairgrounds in Maumee, and takes riders along some of the most scenic back roads in Northwest Ohio.  This event offers four different mileage route options.

  • The first is a one-day 35 mile route on Saturday called "One Day One Way"

  • The remaining three are two-day rides with 50, 75 and 100 mile courses

For the "One Day One Way" 35 mile ride, riders will pedal to the lunch stop in Pemberville. These riders will not be allowed on the route beyond the lunch stop. After lunch, riders board buses (a truck follows carrying bikes) and ride the bus back to the Fairgrounds where their tour ends.  IMPORTANT:  Riders doing the 1-day route should park in the designated area marked “35 mile parking” on Saturday morning, in order not to be blocked in by 2-day riders

For the 50 mile route you start riding at the Lucas Co. Fair Grounds and ride to Gibsonburg where you are then given a bus ride to Port Clinton.  On the second day you are given a bus ride to Woodville where you will start day two.  For the 75 and 100 mile rides, the first day ends at the finish line at Port Clinton High School.  Riders will enjoy a delicious pasta dinner and receive a free ticket on the Jet Express to Put-In-Bay for the rest of the day.  Camping and shower facilities are available free of charge on the Port Clinton High School grounds, along with secured overnight bike storage.  The second day of the tour begins at Port Clinton High School where riders flip over a fantastic "flying pancake" breakfast.  Riders then travel back to the fairgrounds in Maumee, where fabulous finish line festivities await, including our much raved about barbecue chicken dinner.

The tour includes catered lunches, and several rest stops along the way, all fully stocked with snacks and beverages.  There is also complete medical, safety, and bicycle repair support along the well-marked routes, as well as SAG support vehicles that ride along the tour to assist riders.

You've always been up for a challenge. And meeting this one can make a world of difference. This event will challenge you and reward you like no other cycling event.
